| Job Summary |
The Technical Lead, Core Banking Technology Specialist is responsible for the technical aspects of a solution introduced into the banking system. This role performs a variety of duties to analyze, design, develop, maintain, test, debug, implement, document and support applications within a banking system team. The Technical Lead, Core Banking Technology Specialist is also responsible for mentoring team members in addition to the overall architectural design and review of deliverables for core banking solutions. The Core Banking System is a real-time, multi-currency, application developed as a single integrated solution which comprised of multitude of highly complex and critical transactional core banking functionalities such as deposits, Loans, Mortgages, EFT and ABM Message Processing. |
| Responsibilities |
- Provide technical guidance for development teams responsible for the development and maintenance of all aspects of the Banking Systems.
- Responsible for the overall system design of a Core Banking system solution.
- Review system requirements and prepare estimates for the overall technical solution.
- Participate in and support analysis, design, testing, implementation and maintenance of enhancements to Banking Systems.
- Evaluate new technologies and participate in the continuous improvement of applications and systems.
- Act as a liaison between IT vendors and Business Analysts to review business needs and IT requirements.
- Effectively manage multiple and concurrent projects and review other team members' assigned development tasks.
- Mentor developers and provide technical guidance for the development team.
- Participate in code review and advise team members on best practices in development.
- Coach and advise team members on their assigned production tasks for quick turnaround time to meet stakeholder and business needs.

| Specialized Skill Requirements |
- Knowledge of Profile 7.x core banking system – major file definitions and data items, DB triggers, indices, journals, foreign keys, procedures, batches, routines, functions, reports, screens, system/common/user tables, product types, queries, transactions, events (dayend, monthend, yearend).
- Working experience with code optimization within Profile 7.x PSL
- Understanding object oriented methodology and PSL methods.
- Knowledge and working experience with Profile 7.x MRPCs/procedures/batches and new product features.
- Understanding of PSL and M Relationship.

| Qualifications |
- Completion of a college or equivalent post secondary degree
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial industry with a focus on web based Core Banking Systems development.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leading position.
- Well versed in development lifecycle and object oriented development methodologies.
- Highly skilled in trouble shooting and problem solving production incidents with Tangerine applications using profile core banking system.
- Competent in enterprise application delivery and design techniques.
- Competent in M (MUMPS) / PSL, Fidelity Profile, Design patterns, AIX, WIN2K, XSLT, XML, HTML, DHTML, Java Script, Releases / version control.
- Excellent documentation skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
